Hi, I’m Rue Allyn, and mostly I’m about writing stories, books about heart melting romance. Books about characters and adventures in which love triumphs at the darkest moment. The kind of
suspenseful, hopeful, cathartic romance that melts a reader's heart.

Most Exotic Place Visited

Not sure. Since retiring, I live in Nicaragua, which is pretty exotic in itself. I've traveled all 50 of the United States, lived in Iceland, and visited Australia and New Zealand. You tell me which is most exotic.

What Shampoo Do You Use?

Whatever I can get.

Your Dream Car

I don't think it's been made yet, as I want an eco-friendly car that flies. But if I have to choose from what is currently available, I think I'd like a 2-seater, red, Mercedes convertible or the same in a classic Mustang.

Mountains or Beach? Why?

Beach. I'm not fond of snow. Lived most of my life in Michigan, so I've had a lifetime's worth of snow.

Pet Peeve

People who hesitate when they speak. Example: I . . . uhm . . . ah . . . I . . . and so on. This is different than stammering or stuttering.

Number of Published Books

Kind of depends on how you count them. Some of my published books are no longer available. Those currently available number about 17 including novellas.

Book that Changed Your Life

There are so very many. But I think I'd have to blame Chaucer's Canterbury Tales more than any other book with Shakespeare's plays and sonnets coming a close second.

In front of my computer.

Do You Listen to Music While Writing? What Kind?

Yes. Easier to say what I don't listen to. I love vocal music, but I have difficulty with music where melody is not predominant, so I'm not fond of reggae, rap and most jazz.
